Compuscan Academy wins Skills@Work Award 2015

Compuscan Academy was recognised for its dedication towards skills development in South Africa when BANKSETA named it the winner in the Accredited Training Provider category on Thursday 19 November 2015.

The Skills@Work Awards give recognition to BANKSETA partners in the banking and micro-finance sectors, awarding their training initiatives, organisational support for people with disabilities and the institution’s contribution to socio-economic objectives.

Commenting on the award, Compuscan Academy General Manager Cindee Groenewald shared her gratitude towards BANKSETA for this recognition: “Over the past 11 years, Compuscan Academy has gone from strength to strength in ensuring that we offer relevant and quality training programmes which aim to develop the critical and scarce skills of our learners and stakeholders.”

Compuscan Academy received this award alongside other category winners that included Small, Medium & Large Employers and Financial Cooperatives.

The judges considered a number of factors, including the implementation of learnerships for employed individuals, work-readiness interventions for unemployed youth, participation in BANKSETA-funded projects and innovative practices in learning and development. Furthermore, BANKSETA considered the academy’s relationships with stakeholders within skills development in the banking and microfinance sector, RPL methodologies and participation in QCTO initiatives and workshops.
