Our company was established in 2003 out of a need for a dedicated training provider for the Microfinance Industry (MFI) when Compuscan, a well known credit bureau in South Africa, was awarded a BANKSETA training grant via the Micro Lenders Association (now Micro Finance South Africa) to develop and manage a compliance training programme for microlenders.
As a result of our achievements in this project, Compuscan became a leading training provider for the Microfinance Skills Project (MFSP) towards the end of 2003. In 2004 Compuscan was once again awarded with a second training grant of a similar nature, this time focusing on responsible lending issues. This was again successfully delivered and consequently, Compuscan established our own training company, called “Compuscan Academy” (also previously known as Credit Skills Training Institute - CSTI). Since 2004 we have grown to be a very successful and well known training provider within the credit as well as the corporate industry of South Africa. We have trained thousands of learners countrywide. We have even spread our wings to enter the African market when we offered training programmes in emerging financial markets such as Nigeria and Zambia. |
